Sun In My Belly is a breakfast + lunch + dinner café, as well as a full service catering company. They are located in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta but travel all over the southeast for events and weddings.

They were founded in 1996 by Alison Lueker, executive chef and co-mastermind behind Sun in my Belly Café + Catering. Alison wanted to make her mark by creating an exciting, visually-driven, haute cuisine catering company for Atlanta. She was one of the first chefs in town to champion seasonally fresh, local fare that featured an artful flair, distinguished by intricate, nature-driven themes which are woven into all of her signature dishes. After traveling the world and finishing culinary school in Santa Fe, Alison landed back in Atlanta, where she decided to create the kind of food that fulfilled her passion for gorgeous, delectable and uniquely decadent cuisine.

In 1998, Alison partnered with Max LeBlanc to take over a Kirkwood kitchen and bring the catering business to another level. Max’s background in both quantitative business analysis and operations management was exactly what we needed. He put himself to work creating a smoothly-run catering business and searching for a permanent home for the Sun in my Belly Neighborhood Café in Kirkwood. After opening our Kirkwood Café in the historic Bailey’s Hardware building for brunch + lunch, Max and Alison balanced the cafe and catering business, while creating beautiful dishes, scrumptious meals, and phenomenal atmospheres for every occasion. Finally, after serving the Kirkwood community for almost a decade, we are proud and excited to open our doors for dinner service in 2012.
